What gauge does your run need?
The table below is the whole decision. It applies the 5 percent rule, which keeps cable loss at roughly 0.25 dB, to the round trip resistance of common wire gauges. Note how sharply the limits fall for a 4 ohm load: doubling the number of speakers on an amplifier channel halves the length of cable you can use.

Limits apply the 5 percent rule to round trip resistance, which is twice the one way length, and correspond to about 0.25 dB of loss. Figures are for copper conductors at room temperature. Aluminium clad cable has higher resistance and the limits do not apply to it.

Installed systems do not use pre-made cables, and it is worth saying plainly that this tier is not an Amazon purchase. Cable for a permanent run is bought by the foot on a spool, cut to length, and terminated on site. More importantly it must carry the correct fire rating for the space it passes through: CL2 or CL3 for in-wall runs, and plenum rated cable for anything crossing a space used for air handling. Ordinary cable in a plenum is a fire code violation, not a shortcut.

Why gauge matters more than brand
There is a great deal of marketing attached to speaker cable and very little of it survives contact with the arithmetic. What a speaker cable does is carry current with as little resistance as possible, and resistance is set by the conductor cross section and the length. A 12 AWG cable from any reputable manufacturer performs the same as any other 12 AWG cable of the same length, because the copper is the product.
What does vary is the jacket, the strain relief and the connector, which is the same story as microphone cable: mechanical robustness rather than electrical performance. Buy a sensible gauge, buy locking connectors, and put the remaining money into the loudspeakers themselves, where it makes an audible difference. Connectors: why Speakon rather than jack
A quarter inch jack carrying amplifier output has two problems. It can be pulled out by a foot catching the cable, which at best interrupts the service and at worst leaves an amplifier output shorted as the plug withdraws. And it exposes live contacts that can touch a chassis. A twist lock connector solves both: it cannot be pulled out without being turned, and the contacts are recessed.
