When a stage box earns its money

What goes wrong with digital snakes

Three failures account for most of the trouble. The first is cable: unshielded patch cable, or a run spliced through a wall plate with a cheap coupler, produces intermittent dropouts that are very hard to diagnose because they are intermittent.
